Sunday Message (28 August 2011)

By Pastor Johannes Nare

Scripture read on the book of: Nehemiah 4:1-7

The God that we worship, when He reaches somebody’s life He makes it a point that He leaves that person with something new. You might not listen when God is speaking to you; you might not tithe when sometimes the pastor is telling you to do so. But the God that I know; the God that we pray; the God that we worship will never let you go home alone. Even if you go home and sleep, or go to the shop and try to forget; But when you sit, there’s a voice that will speak to you. That is why I say, when God reaches the heart, He will never leave the heart unattended.

When God visits you in your “situation”, even though the pains are still there, there’s something God is attending. Some people complain about their children and they say, “Pastor, my children are disrespectful. I tried to take them to church, but they don’t want to obey the pastor’s teachings.” No! They obey the pastor, but unfortunately they don’t want to take what God is telling them. Let me assure you; that particular child, God will visit him being alone. One day you will be surprised when your child comes in, and you will wonder why your child is making such noise in your house; and that time you have given up. You have even named your family a disobidient family to God. You have already surrendered your family to the devil; you have surrendered your finances to the devil; and surrendered all your first borns to the devil because you say, “These people won’t listen to God, why should I go on telling them to do what is right?” But let me tell you something today; you need not to give up to what God has given you. Even though they don’t listen today, one day they will listen; Even though they don’t take orders today, one day they will be sleeping alone and God will visit them.

We are serving a gracious God whose favour is on everyman. God doesn’t care how much people have lebelled your life; when God touches you, everything becomes new. People will always look for the bad in you. Out of the good you are, they will be in the lookout for the wrong and they nail you. Don’t allow people to describe you. There’s no way you can build your life if you allow people to describe your life. They will tell you how bad you are; they will say you cannot make it; your business cannot make it; you can not make it in marriage; you are not a working type; you are not a marriage type; you are not a singing type; you are not a preaching type. Who told you that? Don’t take what the people are saying about you. Take what God is saying about you.

When God says you are the son of God, you are the son of God; When God says you are a daughter of God, you are a daughter of God; When God says you are a priesthood, you are a priesthood; If He says you are okay you are okay. Stop listening to what the people are saying. If people are saying your are poor, say I am rich; when people are saying I am weak, say I am strong; when people are saying you are not a woman, say I am a man with a womb. If they say you are ugly and no man will approach you, tell them God approached me long ago. Be persistence to what you are called to do. Do not be discouraged. People will laugh at you, but don’t listen to what they are saying, listen to what God is saying.

Identify Your Strong Man In Your Life

The sermon of the 20th August 2011

By Pastor Maphonyane

Matthews 12:29, 34 & 35
I John 5:4 & 5

We spoke much about breaking the barriers.  We spoke about identifying your enemy; to identify your strong man. There is one thing I learn about Jesus; that when He came to earth, He came to buy us back, or He came to win us over after we have sinned against the Lord; after the world have sinned against the Lord. Jesus came as a sacrifice for us to be brought back. So when you speak about Jesus, you speak about the Man who is Kingdom-oriented; you speak of a Man whose desire is for us to be reunited with God; when you speak about Jesus, you speak about a Man who brings victory to people; a Man who brings life to people. When you see Jesus, you see the possibilities.

We are then challenged bretheren to be possessed by the Kingdom, as Jesus was. Our major goal about salvation is that, one day we see God. Jesus is Kingdom-focussed. We don’t need to forget the purpose of our salvation.

Before Jesus spoke about the strong man, He spoke of the Kingdom.

Unleashing Your Secrete Weapon

Sermon of 14 August 2011 by Pastor Vulture

Scripture read in the Book of 1 Samuel 17:12 – 25

Unleashing Your Secrete Weapon
(Ukukhulula isikhali sakho semfihlakalo)

We as Christains are in a war situation. We are not in a war where we are to use AK47s. As Christians we are being challenged in every corner. If you are not challenged at work, you are challenged at home where you stay; we are challenged in schools. The world wants you to compromise; the world wants to discourage you from your faith. The world wants to make sure that you don’t get out there and do exactly what God wants you to do.

Building up The Church

(pastor Nare in action)

In Brief: Sermon of 07 August 2011 by Pastor Johannes Nare

I Kings 6:7 “When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built.”

Let us look at the quality of stones which were used to build the house. I have been preaching about growing in the Lord before I got sick. Now we are still growing. No wonder I am singing this song, “We are building up the temple; we are building up the temple; we are building up the temple of the Lord...” Unfortunately there’s no one who can just stay without building anything. Bretheren; I am talking about building a church that grows. I am not talking about the church that has more people which doesn’t grow. We are talking about the church that grows in supporting one another.

We are building a church; we are growing our church. We need a church that is growing not just in number but in maturity. We want a church which looks after its people. We want people who build the church while they are quiet; people who build the church in silence. We need not to make any noise when we are building God’s church. Whatever resources we use to build the church, we don’t need to make any noise about it.

Why most big churches have fallen today? The reason is because they were built using wrong stones. We need to use quality stones. What’s the use to have a big membership without love; a church full of snakes and scorpions? Churches have fallen because the people who were placed in leadership were never tested in their lives; because they did not go through trials. Today the same people are destroying others in the church; they are destroying the church of God.

When you are going through something, don’t close your eyes; don’t close your ears. God is trying to show something. God is preparing you to build His Church. Do not negotiate with God. Do not question God. Who are you to question God? Did you question God when you were born? Whatever is happening in your life open your eyes; open your ears. Everything is happening for a reason. God knows why this is happening in this season. God does things so that we may know that He is God.

I always wonder to hear people saying, “A car is damaged beyond repair”. But the statement cannot be refered to a humaan being. Why? This is because God want to show you something. It is up to you to findout what that something is. What is happening to you now is not just happening. It is happening for you to learn something. God is in control.

People's Pastor

(Pastor Nare helping the church youth during Saturday's rehersal)
The Answer Church of God in Christ – Mayibuye branch is under the leadership of Pastor Johannes Nare who is well known as “Flexicard” amongst his church members. He is a true shepherd who is always there for his sheep. Here we see him helping the church youth choir to find their voices. He is a role model for each and every member of the church, young and old. He possesses all qualities which makes him equally accepted to all church groups. He can equally level himself to the youth group and speak their language; he can dance a mothers’ side to side dance; he can be a on the fathers’ side and also become a pastor of his church. We thank God for such a leader in our church. Tembisa will nver be the same again.
